How does Novology treat acne?

Yes, the products are clinically tested and validated through independent studies. All formulations are hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. They are free from parabens and drying alcohols in most products, and co-created with India's leading dermatologists to validate tolerability before launch. Exception: the Sunscreen range and Acne Rescue Spot Corrector contain alcohol as a functional ingredient.
TT-2 combines Thymol and Terpineol — two botanically derived actives. Unlike standard acne treatments, it targets acne-causing bacteria directly at the root. By working synergistically to inhibit bacterial growth and reduce inflammation, it helps accelerate skin healing and prevents future breakouts without drying the skin. Independent research published in the Journal of Nanobiotechnology (2021) confirms thymol’s antimicrobial activity against Cutibacterium acnes with minimal disruption to the healthy skin microbiome.
Salicylic acid exfoliates the skin surface to unclog pores. Benzoyl peroxide kills acne-causing bacteria but can disrupt the skin’s beneficial microbiome. Novology’s patented TT-2 — Thymol and Terpineol — targets bacteria at the root while preserving good bacteria. It addresses active acne, whiteheads, blackheads, and excess sebum without surface-only exfoliation.
HNR-3 is a three-ingredient system for pigmentation reduction. Hexyl Resorcinol inhibits melanin synthesis at the source, Niacinamide blocks its transfer to skin cells, and Retinyl Propionate accelerates the clearing of existing deposits.
